Egypt Launches Fourth Edition of ‘100 Days of Health’ Campaign to Expand Free Medical Services Nationwide
SHARE

Egypt has introduced a fourth edition of the Hundred Days of Health campaign throughout the nation. The campaign is expanding access to free healthcare services across all governorates as part of the government’s broader efforts to improve public health and early disease detection. The initiative started on 1 August under the Ministry of Health and Population and is expected to reach millions of citizens through hospitals, primary care centers, and mobile medical units.

The campaign is made to put national health programs in one place so people can get help to stop them from getting sick, see a doctor when they need to, and get special care when they need it. The campaign does this by making care, medical consultations, and specialized treatment from the national health programs easier to get to. This way, the national health programs can help people more.

This year’s edition carries the theme “Year of the Patient’s Voice and Support,” reflecting the ministry’s focus on improving patient experience while strengthening healthcare delivery across the country.

Officials said residents will be able to receive free services covering early cancer screening, chronic disease detection, maternal and child healthcare, newborn hearing tests, elderly care, mental health support, and routine immunization programs. The initiative also incorporates state-funded treatment programs, efforts to reduce waiting lists for surgeries, physiotherapy, oncology services, blood donation management, and emergency healthcare.

To improve accessibility, medical convoys and mobile clinics will operate in public spaces, including parks, youth centres, sports clubs, and other community locations. Health awareness campaigns will also be conducted to educate citizens on disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and the availability of free medical services offered through the program.

The campaign builds on previous editions that delivered millions of free healthcare services across Egypt and forms part of the government’s strategy to strengthen preventive medicine and expand universal health coverage. Health authorities say integrating multiple healthcare initiatives into one nationwide program enables more efficient service delivery while ensuring that citizens in both urban and rural areas receive timely medical care.

Local officials, including the governor of Minya, are expected to oversee launch events in their respective governorates, highlighting the campaign’s role in improving healthcare access and encouraging residents to take advantage of free examinations, screenings, and treatment services available throughout the 100-day initiative.
