This is owing to the fact that Oman has managed to achieve third place globally in the Quality of Life Index of Numbeo within the first six months of 2026. This shows that Oman holds the highest position among all Asian and Arab countries.

The quality of life in Oman is really good. It has a score of 203.9. This means Oman is as good as Denmark. Oman is in place. The Netherlands is in place with a score of 205. 6. Luxembourg is in place with a score of 204.8. When we look at Asia, Oman is the best. It is better than Qatar and Japan. Oman is number one in Asia. The quality of life in Oman is very high.

People wearing traditional Middle Eastern clothing walk along a sidewalk beside a modern shopping street, with beige apartment buildings, palm trees, and distant mountains in the background.

Numbeo’s assessment takes a broad view of living conditions rather than focusing solely on economic indicators. Its methodology considers factors including purchasing power, personal safety, healthcare, living costs, property prices relative to income, commuting times, pollution and climate. Oman’s performance was particularly strong in safety, purchasing power, pollution levels, property affordability and average travel times.

The ranking comes as Oman continues to invest in urban development and infrastructure intended to improve the country’s long-term living environment. Projects including Thuraya City, Future Salalah City, Al Jabal Al Aali, and Al Khuwair Downtown form part of wider plans to create more connected and sustainable urban areas.

The Greater Muscat initiative is aimed at improving connectivity, transportation networks, access to services and the overall urban environment, while Sultan Haitham City is progressing as one of the country’s major future-city developments. Authorities view such projects as part of a broader effort to strengthen urban resilience and improve residents’ daily experiences.

Numbeo, established in 2009, describes itself as a major global database comparing living costs and quality-of-life conditions across countries and cities. Its rankings combine updated information and user contributions with statistical measures, providing comparative insight into factors affecting residents’ everyday lives.
