27-year-old immigrants died due to a gas cylinder explosion at the Dubai car showroom. The fatal incident occurred at a showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, where the blast claimed the life of Shijin Paul, a native of Kerala, Indian officials confirmed.

His family and co-workers grieve. His colleague described him as a dedicated worker. He was planning to reunite with his wife in the UAE after their marriage last year.

The tragedy has drawn attention to the personal loss behind the workplace accident, as friends recalled Paul’s commitment to his family and future plans.

Massive fiery explosion with orange flames and dark smoke rising into a blue sky.

According to colleagues, he had spent years building a career in Dubai and was looking forward to bringing his wife to the Emirates after the couple married in 2025 following an eight-year relationship. His sudden death has shocked those who knew him both in the UAE and in his hometown in Kerala.

Co-workers described Paul as hard-working, humble and dependable, saying he maintained close ties with colleagues and remained focused on supporting his family. News of the explosion spread quickly among the expatriate community, prompting an outpouring of condolences from friends and well-wishers.

The Indian Consulate in Dubai confirmed the victim’s identity and said it was extending assistance to the bereaved family during the repatriation process. Diplomatic officials also expressed sympathy over the loss, while relatives in India began making arrangements following the confirmation of his death.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the gas cylinder explosion. No additional fatalities have been reported in connection with the incident, and officials have not yet released the findings of the ongoing inquiry. Further details are expected once the investigation is completed.

The incident has once again highlighted the emotional toll workplace accidents can have on expatriate families, many of whom spend years living apart while working overseas. For Paul’s friends and colleagues, the loss is remembered not only as a workplace tragedy but also as the end of a young man’s hopes of beginning a new chapter with his family in Dubai.
