Search and rescue teams belonging to the Royal Oman Police Coast Guard managed to save three people whose kayak overturned in the waters off Al Qurum Beach, located in the Wilayat of Bausher, as announced officially on Monday by authorities. In another case of marine rescue on the very same day, alerting patrol officials saved a child who was on the brink of drowning in Sohar, in the North Al Batinah Governorate.
An immediate sea operation was launched off the famous coast of Muscat Governorate after receiving reports about a boat carrying three people who were rowing and which had capsized in the area. The stranded rowers were seen struggling against the current of water, and they were safely taken back on shore.

Meanwhile, during routine coastal surveillance in North Al Batinah, a Coast Guard patrol unit spotted a child in critical danger off Silver Jubilee Park in Sohar. Patrol officers responded swiftly to the situation, retrieving the child from the water and administering immediate medical first aid on site. Official police sources subsequently confirmed the child was stabilised successfully and remains in good health following the life-saving intervention.
Following the two successful rescue operations, the Royal Oman Police issued fresh public safety advisories for beachgoers, holidaymakers, and water sports enthusiasts across the Sultanate. Authorities urged swimmers and recreational boaters to exercise heightened vigilance, observe local weather conditions, avoid swimming during rough tides, and wear certified personal flotation devices while participating in marine activities along Omani beaches.
The quick success of both life-saving operations underscores the strategic operational presence and rapid deployment capabilities of the Royal Oman Police Coast Guard Command. Continuous maritime patrols remain active across Oman’s vast coastal territory to maintain waterfront safety, prevent accidental drownings, and ensure rapid emergency responses during peak recreational hours along public shores.
